Archangel Raphael Ministry {A.R.M.}, a program of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of the Southern United States under the auspices of His Grace Bishop Youssef, is an exceptional ministry designed specifically for individuals with special needs---our brothers, sisters, children, and their families dealing with these challenges. Individuals with special needs include many challenges, but not limited to persons with Autism, Down Syndrome, Rhett's Syndrome, Tourette Syndrome, Turner Syndrome, Chromosomal Disorders, Psycho-Emotional Disorders, Speech Delays, Developmental Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Attention Deficit Disorders, Varying Exceptionalities, and other Exceptional Student Education.
By the grace of God, the A.R.M. program serves throughout the year. Links to resources are updated periodically to provide our families with the most relevant information regarding Exceptional Student Services. Specialists from the community are available to answer general questions. A support group of parents and specialists is formed to offer assistance and guidance. In addition, stewards who are interested in learning how to set up a Sunday School curriculum, activities, and/or services are invited to contact us for resources and training.
A unique, spiritual, informative, and enjoyable annual summer convention for individuals with special needs and their families has been established to address the many concerns associated with these challenges. Specialists and professionals from the community are invited to share their knowledge, experience, and various resources. The program includes Divine Liturgies, homilies, lectures, discussions, seminars, workshops, field trips, activities, and fun for the entire family. The annual conventions take place in the beautiful and serene surroundings at St. Stephen Christian Retreat and Conference Center, in Titusville, Florida.
